MRS. R. NAVARRO'S 3RD GRADE CLASS

I am Ruth Navarro, a 3rd grade dual language teacher at Lucille Roybal-Allard Elementary School. I have proudly served as an educator with Los Angeles Unified School District for 29 years. Prior to joining Lucille Roybal-Allard, I taught at Miles Avenue Elementary School for 15 years. I was also honored to contribute as one of the educators involved in developing the plan to open Lucille Roybal-Allard Elementary.

I earned my degree and teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach in 1997, the same year I began my teaching career. I am a National Board Certified Teacher and was recognized by the City of Huntington Park as Educator of the Year in 2023.

My connection to the school community is also personal—my own children attended Lucille Roybal-Allard Elementary. One is now a graduate of University of California, San Diego, and the other is currently enrolled there.

I have a deep passion for teaching and am committed to ensuring the success of every student in my classroom. I strongly believe in the value of bilingual education and the importance of providing students with the opportunity to learn a second language—particularly one that reflects their home, culture, and heritage.

Soy Ruth Navarro, maestra de 3.er grado en el programa de lenguaje dual en la Escuela Primaria Lucille Roybal-Allard. He servido con orgullo como educadora en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Los Ángeles (LAUSD) durante 29 años. Antes de integrarme a Lucille Roybal-Allard, trabajé en la Escuela Primaria Miles Avenue durante 15 años. También tuve el honor de contribuir como una de las educadoras que participó en el desarrollo del plan para abrir esta escuela.

Obtuve mi licenciatura y credencial docente en la Universidad Estatal de California, Long Beach (CSULB) en 1997, el mismo año en que inicié mi carrera como maestra. Soy Maestra Certificada por la Junta Nacional y fui reconocida por la Ciudad de Huntington Park como Educadora del Año en 2023.

Mi conexión con la comunidad escolar también es personal: mis propios hijos asistieron a la Escuela Primaria Lucille Roybal-Allard. Uno de ellos se graduó de la Universidad de California, San Diego (UCSD), y el otro actualmente estudia allí.

Tengo una gran pasión por la enseñanza y estoy comprometida a asegurar el éxito de cada uno de mis estudiantes. Creo firmemente en el valor de la educación bilingüe y en la importancia de brindar a los estudiantes la oportunidad de aprender un segundo idioma, especialmente uno que refleje su hogar, cultura y herencia.
